S&P Global: Russia’s Manufacturing PMI rises to 53.6 in February

MOSCOW, Mar 1 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) grew to 53.6 in February from 52.6 in January, above the no-change mark of 50, research agency S&P Global said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Overall growth was extended, with the rate of expansion quickening to the fastest since early-2017," the agency said.

New orders expanded at the highest rate since March 2019 amid a stronger demand from domestic customers, while foreign orders decreased.

The input costs grew at the fastest pace since May 2022 with inflation acceleration.

The sales price increase accelerated, although remained subdued. Employment increased at the lowest rate in three months.

The level of optimism regarding production in 2023 decreased from January's level but remained above average.
